Sponsor a Resident
At Serenity Guinea Pig & Friends Rescue, most of our animals go on to loving forever homes. But some of our residents will stay with us for life. Because of age or chronic health conditions, these special-needs animals live in permanent sanctuary care with us, and they rely on our community for the care they need.
Why sponsorship matters
Our sanctuary residents need care every single day for the rest of their lives, not just until adoption day. Sponsoring a resident gives steady, ongoing support to one specific animal. It also frees up space and resources so we can keep rescuing small animals in need.
What your support pays for
Sponsorship helps cover the ongoing care of a resident, including:
• Unlimited fresh hay and nutritious, species-appropriate food
• Safe bedding (never pine or cedar)
• Veterinary care and medical treatments from trusted vets
• Enrichment, toys, and roomy housing (for guinea pigs, at least 10.5 sq ft per pair)
A gift with meaning
Looking for a holiday gift for the animal lover who has everything, or a way to honour someone special? A sponsorship in their name gives a resident real care, with no surprise pet involved. Choose any tier or a one-time Snack Drop, and we'll send a printable sponsorship certificate you can give to them.
How to sponsor
1. Email us at serenitygprescue@gmail.com and tell us you'd like to sponsor a resident. If you have a favourite resident, or the sponsorship is a gift or in honour of someone, let us know that too.
2. We'll reply with the details. Monetary support can be sent by e-transfer to serenitygprescue@gmail.com. You can also find more ways to give on our donate page: https://www.serenitygprescue.com/donate
Sponsorship options (CAD)
Amounts are approximate, and every dollar goes toward our residents' overall care.
Monthly
• Hay Muncher, $10/month: a tenth of our $100/month hay bill. You get a thank-you email with a photo of your resident.
• Veggie Patch, $25/month: helps with a month of fresh veggies, vitamin C, and pellets. You get a thank-you email with a photo of your resident.
• Popcorn Pal, $50/month: covers bedding, cleaning supplies, and enrichment, with some left toward vet care. Everything above, plus quarterly photo updates and a printable sponsorship certificate.
• Wheek Champion, $100/month: a meaningful contribution toward vet visits and medical treatments for a special-needs resident. Everything above, with monthly photo updates.
One-time
• Snack Drop, any amount from $25: a one-time gift toward a resident's care. You get a thank-you email with a photo and a printable certificate, which makes a perfect holiday or in-honour-of gift.
